Well there are two reasons this piece catched the attention first: Technique, I do not know if you have notions in graphic arts but this painting presents a well balanced composition that means that every elementis consisten and armonizes with the others, the volumes are in proportion if we mark an imaginary diagonal fline from up right to bottom left, and the light helps guide the eye sight to the main elemnt. Second: The theme, mythical themes like this are very old fashioned I just love it it could have been part of an old ship or a children´s tales book, is just exciting to me as expectator the experience of looking the painting and trying to imagine the history behind it...an aurelia jellyfish, polar bear sargassum and penguins interacting with a very rare polar mermaid in a dramatic counter dive angle is a great job.
The thing I dislike about it is the camera flashlight ¬¬ and the crude technique with the oil paint, that´s evident inthe blurr definition in the lines and the dissimulated mistakes like the bear´s eye and mermaid´s arm
